November is Financial Literacy Month in Canada. For that reason, we would be remiss to not provide some comment on what prudent money management looks like. While some planners would point you to the importance of planned savings or others to the available rates of return on a variety of financial instruments, we're going to simplify even further. No, we're not even going to talk about living within your means (though that would solve a lot of people's problems, for sure). We're going to talk about giving.
As with everything in this life, we are to put God first, because of what He has done first for us. In doing so, He provides us a peace that transcends our present circumstances, whatever that may look like.
"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows." - Malachi 3:10.
Did you catch that? This is the one place where God challenges us to test him! Talk about a return on investment! And no, this is not about sending us a donation. This is about wherever you are, whatever church you worship in, or whatever denomination you align with, to prayerfully and in faith, step out and pay tithe to the Lord. This is all about you and Him.
